What do I need to borrow an item from OverDrive?

You will need:
-a computer or mobile device with internet access
-Adobe Digital Editions (if you want to read eBooks on your computer or on an eReader)
-The OverDrive Media Console app (if you are using a mobile device)
-Overdrive Media Console (if you want to listen to a downloadable audiobook
-A Colchester-East Hants Public Library library card number and your PIN number. Your PIN number is usually the last four digits of your home telephone number.

How do I place a hold on an eBook or downloadable audiobook?

While browsing our downloadable collection, any items that are already signed out by another person will display a button that 
says 'Place A Hold'. Click this button and enter in your library card number and your PIN number (usually the last four digits of your home number) to reserve this item.


How do I remove a hold on an eBook or downloadable audiobook?

To remove a hold, visit digitalmedia.library.ns.ca and click on 'My Account' at the top right of the screen. Sign in. Click "Holds".Click on  'Remove'.


How will I be notified of a hold when my hold is available?
When you place a hold on an item, you will be asked for your email address. This will be used to 
notify you when your item becomes available.

My email address has changed, how can I make sure I am notified when my hold becomes available?
If your email address has changed, visit digitalmedia.library.ns.ca click on 'My Account' at the top right of the screen and then '
Holds'. Click on 'Edit Email' next to your hold. Enter in your new email address.

Can I renew a downloadable audiobook or eBook?
The option to renew a title becomes available three days before the title is set to expire, appearing next to the title on your Bookshelf under your library Account at digitalmedia.library.ns.ca.

 
How do I return a borrowed item early?
Items you haven't downloaded yet can be returned from your account at digitalmedia.library.ns.ca.

For information on how to return borrowed items once they have been downloaded, please click on the appropriate walk through in the menu on the left hand side of this page.

 
How many items can I borrow at one time?
You may borrow up to 10 items at one time.
